Wed, 5 Jan 2005, 04:02 pmhi i am a 12 year old girl and i am into singing dancing and acting i was wondering if u could tell me if their is going to be a musical in brisbane which children are involved in like sound of music?I have been looking on the internet to see if theri are any auditions but only for fame which u have to be 17 and over. Are there any others?

Hey Sophie,
You do realise to be in musicals professionally is very hard for your age because most musicals are aged for 18 yr olds and above. If you keep checking the classifields for shows to audition for then you might be lucky but what is the best thing for you to do is just keep strengthening your singing, dancing and acting so it is good enough for when you maybe later audition for schools such as WAAPA or VCA etc. Also what also is quite good is to keep looking out for amateur theatre companies that are putting on musicals in your area either look under here in auditions or www.theatrepeople.com.au
Keep looking out for musical theatre courses and try are get involved wherever you can on stage whether its competitions or school musicals/concerts. Goodluck and don't stress over having to be in a musical at 12 yrs old because your chances are very limited because the age requirement tends to be 18 yrs and over but still do other things and just concentrate on further developing each triple threat disipline.
