Applications for courses
Fri, 24 Dec 2004, 12:34 pmI've noticed that on a lot of the applications they ask you to list your professional performing experience. I'm guessing this dosen't include amateur theatre! I've had a fair bit of professional work but mostly singing and acting, not theatre. Do people attatch a CV to the form with performing experiences that may not have been professional???

Re: Applications for courses
I suggest including any professional work that you've done. Even if it's not exactly related to the area you're applying for (e.g. write in your singing and acting...p.s. what do you mean it's not theatre? does that mean you've sung and acted professionally on TV/film/what?).
and do attach a CV with your non-professional history, as any experiences provide an insight for the auditioners as to how much experience you've had, what you've done, how long you've been doing it for. just as they will look at your professional work, they will want to look at your overall history.

Re: Applications for courses
Thank you for your advice on the non professional CV. I think that's the way to go. And yes I do mean I have had professional singing and acting experience (gigs, special events, shopping centre entertainment, and T.V etc.) but I have had heaps of experience in amateur theatre so I would like to list some of that. Sorry for the confusion and thanks again.
