Hi guys
It's been a while since i was on here. feel a bit like a stranger!

Fantastic job Paul on the Broadway updates. Keep it coming.

I have just returned from New York this week and saw some of these shows. Some were absolutely amazing and others so-so.

The absolute tops was "Wicked". it is such a brilliant production. So incredibly visual, a fantastic script and score. Idina Menzel is amazing.

"Avenue q" was an absolute hoot. A great night out and it just leaves you feeling wonderful. Puppets "doing things" puppets shouldn't do (if you know what i mean), is incredibly funny, although some of the very unPC jokes didn't go down too well with the conservative american crowd - strange cause it won the Tony Award this year - go figure.

"Hairspray" was a lot of fun. You just sit there and get carried away by the score, sets and 60's costumes. Lot's of glitz, glam and bedazlers!!! Terry McAuley - you would be soooo proud.

"Bombay Dreams" was a bit of a fizzer. The music and Bollywood Dancing was great, but as far as a story, it doesn't really go anywhere.

"I am my own wife". a one man show where he plays about 30 different characters. Brilliant. He is incredible. No wonder he won the tony award. Totally captivating.

Lastly there is a new Musical which is hoping to get to Broadway. It's the adaptation of the Movie "the opposite of sex".
it's a Great show - has a bit of a "batboy" feel. Very rocky. Karen Ziemba was fantastic.

anyway thats about it. if anyone is heading over, the top three must see list: "wicked", "Avenue Q" and "I am my own wife" (if you can squeeze in a fourth - "Hairspray" just for total fluff factor)

cheers

Dave
