Newbie to Oz...

I'm a Singaporean about to head over to Sydney for university. Massive fan of musicals, especially the big ones (so smite me!) and would love to gain some experience + earn some much-needed pocket money during my stay in Oz. I've some (very) limited experience in peforming and stage management; not much, but its a start, I hope. Anyway would be most grateful if anyone could point me to any stagehand jobs in the area.

anyway...
ignore the comments of mr bastard who has obviously had a bad day/month/life. we (australians) are not all agressive, cynical people and there are actually those out there who will be willing to give you a go. there are lots of opportunities in local (ameteur) theatre, however, these are unpaid. they are a lot of fun and you can network from there. you can search out the community theatres in the area you are going to in the 'companies' section of this web site. have fun :-)
