Re: thank you waapa replys! but...

Hi,

For acting, looks like you only need a good High School record and audition, see:

http://www.waapa.ecu.edu.au/imagine/coursedetail.asp?ID=490

For Music Theatre you need an "acceptable" TEE score (presumably because the course is a Bachelor of Arts, unlike the Acting course), see:

http://www.waapa.ecu.edu.au/imagine/coursedetail.asp?ID=89

Jason

Re: thank you waapa replys! but...

I know that NIDA and QUT for the acting course only barely glimpse at your highschool results. I don't think NIDA does even that. To get into the QUT Drama course, they take your high school results into consideration. I was extremely stupid last year, and tried out jsut for the acting course, and I got told in the interview thing that if I was also applying for the Drama, based on my highschool results (from a few years back now), I would've been offered a place....

Also, I think they also take into account all your hobbies, theatre interests and such too

Just a thing

I know some great actors, great young actors from high school, they tried to get into WAAPA but the olny thing that let them down was their TER score. One guy even told us that they had said they were going to let him in, then promptly found that his TER scores were too low and told he couldn't.
I'm talking great, great actors from a specialist school. This happened because they concerntrated too much on their drama and didn't pay enough attention to the rest of their subjects... aaaaanywhos. Just a note for you.
Keep the passion.

Re: Just a thing

but theres also the opposite, you dont have to do your tee to get in. but its like anything, if theres two people of the same standard, then they are going to look at their other factors to help them decide

Re: Smiddy

Smiddy, nooooooooooooooooooo

what you just wrote was so sad! they were good enough but they weren't allowed in? people have been saying that mainly only the audition counts, but is that different for different schools?
TEE drama takes up so much time, espically the folio's , and i put aside other subjects for drama which i guess is stupid, as don't you also have to do well in Lit to get in? i mean, i did not think something like maths was looked at to get in.

Thank you for your letter Smiddy, and.......um, reading back through what i wrote i asked quite alot of questions! you don't have to answer them, this was supposed to just say thanks for the TER infomation!
so, thank you!
