My suggestion, seeing as you are quite young still, is to get as much training and experience in all areas as possible because for music theatre you need to be a triple threat (actor singer dancer) as far as acting goes I am sure for now you would be fine doing your school drama, but I suggest taking some dance lessons at a dance school and getting a singing teacher. If it is music theatre you want to solely concentrate on then try and find a teacher who specialises in that field, otherwise just getting a teacher would be a great step!!!

Also try and do as much research and learn about as many different ypes of musicals, styles, era's, composers etc.. as you will learn a lot that way, you don't need to rush out and do this tomorrow, but the more you can learn about the genre the better equipped you'll be. finally just get out there and audition for as many amateur companies as you can and do as many shows as you can to get experience, because that is one of the most important things. Being a performer myself the last thing i wanted was to be at school i just wanted to get out there, but do take your time, finish school and it will all be there waiting for you!!! have fun and chooka's!! I hope this has been of some help to you!!!!
