Large Scale musicals for 2003
Thu, 22 Aug 2002, 04:21 pmIs anyone producing large scale musicals for the 2003 Summer ?
The Arts Centre has a new 1000 seat purpose built Amphitheatre which works really well as an outdoor space.
The Arts Centre is interested in getting involved with a company to either buy in the production or co-produce a production at this venue, with an option to extend the season into the Quarry Amphitheatre in City Beach.
The target production period is February into March.
Target shows -- My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, G&S, any other shows that need a really large stage. (19m square)
Any one interested can call Ian Ashton on 0411232748 day or night.
Kindest regards
Ian Ashton.
Kwinana Community Arts Centre.

Fri, 23 Aug 2002, 05:16 pmHi Ian,
I doubt whether any of the clubs have set their 2003 seasons as yet.
February is not usually a prime time for local clubs to do musicals as it means a major rehearsing period over Christmas and the summer holidays.
Playlovers,Roleystone & Wanneroo seem to be the clubs who produce the most musicals (also Prompt Corner) How about approaching Rockingham Theatre Co, they aren't far away fom you.
Perhaps one of the clubs doing 2002 musicals in the latter part of the year would be interested in a re-run.
