Hi all, I am wanting to audition for the Victorian Opera in late November 2008. I have submited an application for both the chorus and the young artist development program. Just wondering if anyone has auditioned for this before and could tell me what the audition will entail? I have never auditioned for an opera company before so would really appreciate any advice whats so ever! Do you know how many songs are required? Do they have to be aria's or are art songs ok? Thanks so much!! Louise

Help

I believe that my sister has auditioned for Richard Gill - I'll forward your details to her and see if she can help.

Ok Details

Hi Louise, My sister has given the following advice: "She will require normally, two arias - the panel is normally made up of 2 people, Richard Gill (Artistic Director) usually, and the GM, who is just newly into her position, so I don't know who she is. They are generally friendly, and as long as she is well prepared, they will be courteous. Vic Opera do favour Victorian residents heavily though - just something to keep in mind" Not much but hope it helps.
