Royal Caribbean Cruiseline

I auditioned for Royal Carribean last time they were here. It was probably the hardest and most rewarding dance audition I've done for a long time. This is what I remember of the Perth auditions. The audition was broken down into culls. The first section was a short, but very difficult jazz combination (be sure of you double turns and turning leaps - it was crazy difficult). We were shown the combination a lot of times and we danced it as a group, then in smaller groups and finally we danced in pairs twice. You are shown the chorey that many times that it isn't a matter of picking up the routine as it is showing correct technique and having a fantastic personality. Don't just dance it. I saw quite a few girls get cut who were beautiful dancers but offered nothing in terms of a personality. After this section they called out numbers and about 80% of the room was sent home. They gave those who were left a break and then we came back for a ballet / contempory combination. Same thing happened again we danced it as a group quite a few times and then we were broken into pairs. A few girls were also asked to dance it alone. After this we danced the jazz combination again and then people were cut again. I can't tell you what happened after this because this is where I was cut but I was told that they were asked questions about their dancing and what they wanted of their career. In the end I was told they videoed the girls they had decided upon and told the girls to wait and find out if they had a job as the video had to be sent to the united States and their bosses had to agree to the girls being employed. All in all it was a fantastic experience and it gives you an idea of what talent is out there and what people are looking for. Go in confident and leave knowing you did better than your best and have fun.
