Another Wicked rumour
Fri, 3 Aug 2007, 07:05 pmApparently Erin Cornell, who is currently playing Elphaba in Japan, is being considered for the Melbourne production. The fact that she is only 21 years old may work against her.

not true,auditions for
not true,
auditions for wicked are open for all roles, including glinda (even though helen dallimore has been approached and she is the ONLY person who has been approached to consider playing the role in australia). one thing that everyone has to realise is that the majority of professional people in the industry do not go onto websites saying rumours about certain shows, etc.... they dont have to, because they already are in the know.
do not take note of any websites talking about apparent casting in shows, such as wicked. the only website that i know to be of some credit is www.aussietheatre.com. but remember DO NOT take any notice of the crap that is written on theatrepeople.com.au by that aaron guy, he is not within the loop of the professional industry and he never will be....

i believe a few of the aussie girls playing/who have played elphaba in japan have been approached to audition for the australian production, however i wouldn't put that as being "in consideration for the role". theres a long way to go before they narrow it down that far. it is however a great opportunity and good luck to them all.

Wicked auditions
Wicked auditions are being held in December. It is by invitation only, so if you don't have an agent who will put you forward for consideration, forget it. The reason I know this is because a friend of mine has just been put forward for an audition. This applies to ensemble, I don't know if it is for principals as well.

I posted it somewhere else,
I posted it somewhere else, but now that the Wicked post is back near the top...
There is a large billboard for the show on the corner of a building at Frankston. Very Times Square-ish.

Tina Arena would make a TERRIBLE Elphaba.
When will people realise that great music theatre needs great actors with good to great voices?

Utter rubbish.The leads
Utter rubbish.
The leads will be offered to big stars, or auditioned amongst a very select group of names. The producers know they cannot go into production of these shows in Australia without big names attached.
