Tamsin Carroll and Rachel Beck have been cast as Elphaba and Galinda in Wicked

According to Theatre People: Grapevine Australia – 17th July 2007 by Aaron Ware Tamsin Carroll and Rachel Beck have been cast as Elphaba and Galinda in Wicked. David Campbell will be playing Fiyero and Bert Newton will appear as the Wizard! Again!

WOW - has this been finalesed? I think thats fantastic and they are all extremely strong and will do outstandanding in their roles. But just something i think i will bring up; Do you often feel like the same people are getting ALL the work in the MT industry here in australia? dont get me wrong these people are incredible, but sometimes i wonder that there are other people out there just as talented, who have gone through these amazing courses at PA academies etc. yet the same people are given most of the top work here in the bus. I suppose it all comes down to 'whose' best for the role and production as a whole, and 'whose' going to give them the most ticket sales, and all of that is fine - its life - but it just struck me as i red those names that seem to be re-apearing non-stop in the casts of most big australian musical theatre shows. This has no intention of offense to the people above, i persoanlly idolise each of them immensley for their talent and contribution to the industry, just raising my opinnion. But other than that, WICKED AUSTRALIA is going to be fantastic! i cant wait to fly over to melbourne and see!! Ben

I AM SICK OF PEOPLE MAKING UP RUMOURS! THIS IS CRAP and ONLY THE PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO HAVE TIME FOR THIS. IT GOES TO SHOW THAT THEY OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT WITHIN THE PROFESSIONAL INDUSTRY OR EVER WILL BE.... FIND SOMETHING BETTER TO DO....

Which part of "according to" do you not understand? It could be that Aaron Ware has posted rubbish. If so, he and Theatre People should be held accountable. If he's right, good on him for getting a great scoop. If he's wrong, his credibility is shot and maybe people will stop reading his post.

if rachel beck was cast in wicked, id be so totally devestated. get someone new. new talent. there is plenty of it out there.

i dont care who's in it, i dont care where it is. all i know is that i will have tickets to the aussie premiere of this fantastic show that has swept the musical world off its feet. i saw it in chicago, missed out in london, but will get to melbourne come july for opening night. my only wish would be to bump into idina at the premiere, but i doubt she'll be there. :(
