Hi, just wondering if any one here will be attending the Phantom of the opera audition for classical dancers? Im going on monday, but i haven't got a song prepared. Can anyone be certain that the classical dance ensemble will be asked to sing? Im definately not a singer so Im shaking in my boots!

Australian Tour

At this stage they have only confirmed Melbourne. I believe they will be touring after that as part of the World Tour, but whether that includes places like Perth and Adelaide we'll have to wait & see. Warlow will only be doing Melbourne, and probably only for 3-6 months.

Hey guys I got a role in Phantom so excited. but I also got accepted into 2 MT courses. AHHHHHH what to do. I have been told to do Phantom cos the experience of this will outway any course. Like - Im there already, this is the reason Im doing the course to get into musicals. I will get known by THE PEOPLE, and its not what you know its who you know(so they say) Opinions please.

So good for you! Did you

So good for you! Did you audition as dancer or singer? Its a good problem you've got but i can understand you being in two minds. Phantom is great, but you have to keep in mind some places like to see what kind of training you have had and that can be an issue... You don't want it to be the only show you get, sometimes its not always experience you have had. But its still awesome and i imagine it will be tough for you to decide.

First of all congrats!!! In

First of all congrats!!! In response I feel it all depends on how much you value the quality of your craft.... A course is designed not only to get you work in the industry, but also to provide you with a clear understanding of how and why a performer operates and how to best maximise one's potential to achieve a higher level of skill. It is naive to say that 6 months of work in Phantom will grant you access into the next musical to hit our shores... which, by the way will either be Billy Elliot or Mary Poppins. (Vastly different styles to Phantom) You must look at the long term viability of jumping straight into work and ignoring formal training... I guess at the end of the day it is only you who can decide what will be best for you... I wish you all the very best for whatever you choose to accept...

Take the role. When you

Take the role. When you want to do a course, they will see this on your CV and it will make you a shoo-in (sp?). Trust me, no course will ever outway practical professional experience. In fact, the job will probably get you more work than the course ever will.
