Hey Sammuel!I'm doing the

Hey Sammuel! I'm doing the Sing Over King Coda course this year and I have to say I would definatly reccomend it to anyone who is interested. I have got more out of the Coda course at Sing Over King this year than I could have ever have hoped for. With such a small group of students being accepted you are not just a face in a crowd of 30 or 40 students. The training is really intensive and tailored to really bring out the strengths in each individual. The subjects that we have covered in the Coda course this year include; music theory, acting for stage and screen, theatre history, harmony, constructing cabaret, performance skills and song interpretation, repertoire and private and group vocal coaching just to name a few. Both the regular teachers and guest teachers have been awesome! Darren and Linda are amazing. All of the teachers we have had this year have really pushed us and given us the confidence to really go for it. We have also had lots of guest speakers come in to talk to us about the industry and have had the opportunity to go to previews of shows that have been on during the year. I have had such a great time at the Sing Over King Coda course I dont want it to end! If you are interested you should definatly come to our Showcase, its going to be fab! :)

Sing Over King

I too am a 2006 student and this has been my best year ever and I dont want it to end. The CODA course is fantastic. We have learnt so much from the industry professionals who are our idols and who we have looked up to as kids and now they either teach us or have been guest speakers, it is such a buzz and learning experience. BUT I cannot give enough praise to Linda and Darren. I have grown as a performer because of them, their hard work and dedication. It is personalised training with people who genuinely care. CODA has a small group of students and we have become a family and grown from all our experiences and challenges this year. If you didnt get into NIDA or WAAPA, dont be disappointed the CODA course is for you, I total recommend it, its such a high standard and many of us have landed gigs already. Yes as Lys said come and see the Showcase on the 12th Dec 2006

Yes i am another one who is

Yes i am another one who is just about to complete the course. The great thing about this course is that the teachers, even though they are industry professionals, really understand where we are coming from and try to help us in any way they can. Take Hayden Tee for example. He is not that much older than us so he is able to give us advice about what the industry is looking for in young adults and how to go about landing a job. Not to mention this course is great for making connections. I would not be where i am today (which is a long way away from where i was at the start of the year) if it wasn't for this course. Daz and Linda really care about their students and give us the encouragement and advice to get where we want to be. Another great thing we are taught at Sing Over King is how to devise our own work (cabarets etc), which is so so important in this industry. Mid way through the year we constructed and performed our own cabarets to an audience. This was extreamly challenging but the knowledge and experience i have gained from doing it is absolutely amazing. We are taught audition techniques that will forever help me and already have!! I have not got a bad thing to say about CODA, except that it should get more recognition for being one of the best year long courses Australia has to offer! If you want proof just come to our showcase. Each student is so individual and unique, i don't think there is another course in Australia like this and i am so lucky to have been able to spend a year working on my craft at this fantastic school!! A huge thanks to Darren and Linda and all the other fabulous teachers that have helped me and the rest of our class throughout the year :)

hey my names brett Simons

hey my names brett Simons and i saw your showcase last tuesday. I just wanted to say i was really really impressed, i did not know what to expect but i was shocked by the amount of talent this course had produced, the way it was directed was very professional and the choreography was hillarious. There were four in particular that stood out. the two girls with curly hair both had great stage presence (very good actor and very good dancer), the boy with big muscles (great entertainer) and jordan who i know from auditions. Anyway good work and hope to see your students at auditions sometime soon.

Yes I went too and it was fantastic. I was really really surprised. I thought it was going to be amateurish Just loved the tall girl with the curly hair, she was outstanding and very attractive, the song about Harold was hilarious Loved the muscle guy and the guy who did the last song about playing pool. Sensational. There were heaps of agents there too I was told

i saw it too!!! i didnt

i saw it too!!! i didnt realise anyone on this site had seen it. Has anyone else seen it? Was it just me or was the russian lady from neibhours there?? I loved the tall curly haired girl too, she was great in her parts, Cera her name was i have the programme here. She was just.. wow.. thats all i can say... I loved Annalis i thought she was very strange and interesting to watch onstage and she played a good phsyco in her song, she seemed to be able to do a lot of roles well and her facial expressions were quite good. I thought Lucases ( muscle mans) voice was not as good as the rest but he really pulled off his roles well.Is he a model? I thought those three stood out. What does anyone else who saw it think? I didnt expect what i saw, i expected it to be average because i know nothing about the course but i think that it was quite professional in the way it was peiced together.

Stage Door School of

Stage Door School of Performing Arts... Look it up in the Yellow Pages or something or type it in google. It has some awesome courses and is great for those who want that edge needed to get into such institutions such as Waapa.

I have just finished an

I have just finished an acting course and was told by a friend to come to a showcase and the Sing over King is to be commended on their teaching and their students. I was amazed at the talent and given that the class is small they have the time to spend on indiviuals and that was extremely noticeable. I have been to a number of showcases/concerts recently and it would have to be the best Ive seen. I believe there success is concentrating on the individual and having small classes. I personally find it difficult to comprehend when some schools have 50+ students on stage in the same course all trying to impress agents. How can you be seen, how can you show off your talent properly. Thats my opinion, good stuff SOK

Hey there, I attended the

Hey there, I attended the entertainment factory and was really dissapointed. The facilities were really bad, it is in like an old office building and the teachers were very average and not very experienced. When i left there they told me I was no good and wouldn't make it in the industry but I have since been accepted into WAAPA and am doing a lot of work in perth. If you are after quality teaching you should try stage door school of performing arts. they have the highest acceptance rate into WAAPA courses then any other performance school in WA. Hope this helps.

I saw the 06 performance

I saw the 06 performance asts for ent fac in Dec. i was really impressed. there a smaller company for sure but there teachers are great. My friend goes there and I am considering auditioning if I don't get my uni pref in 07. They dont start till March. Some of the trainers actually teach for Wappa aswell so i think their trainers are excellent. Stage Door are meant to be good to but it's an awful lot of money for something not recognised. The Ent Fac are recognised by the government and offer a qualification (adv dip) that is recognised nationally- not just in it's own back yard. It also means you can get austudy. Just another opinion :)
