Auditions for Players Theatre Company 25th Anniversary Show JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR Will be held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd of December from 10am till 6 pm Fleigner Hall, Highland Avenue, Clayton, Melways 70 B8 CALL 0400 577 047 to make a booking for your audition Call Backs will be on Monday the 4th of December from 7.30pm Prepare one song NOT from Jesus Christ Superstar that displays your vocal and story telling ability. Preferably a “rock” style song but this is not imperative Please bring along a head shot photo CHARACTER PROFILES Jesus – The name says it all. The story revolves around his last 7 days. Needs a strong tenor with the ability to do a high and strong falsetto Judas – The show is seen through his eyes. Needs a strong passionate actor with the ability to do a strong ROCK BELT Mary – Lead female role. Needs a strong character actor with a sweet but strong voice that can show pure emotion The Apostles – 12 guys (or a mix of guys and girls) Jesus’ disciples, Strong singers that can also move well, there will also be solo’s for the disciples Peter and Simon Caiaphas – The head priest who sees it all going wrong and decides to do something about it. Strong Bass singer Annas – Caiaphas’ right hand man. Strong tenor required for this evil-ish role 3 Priests – Making up the council that decides Jesus’ fate Pontious Pilate – Leader who is forced to sentence Jesus to death. Strong Tenor that can show great emotion King Herod – The fun role! Almost Campish in style and usually the song that gets people clapping along, Strong character actor required Ensemble – Will make up most of the other people in the show such as apostle women, soldiers, crowd and mob scenes
