I suspect that the only auditions will be in Sydney, if they are happening at all, and you will either need an agent or need to be a student at one of a very small number of stage or dance schools. I doubt that there will be open auditions.

obvious...
im sure everyone knows this already but hey for the sake of stating the obvious... the boys they will be looking to cast in the production will have to not only look young but sound young, broken voices are useless in the musical and being to tall is a guaranteed knockback... all im saying is dont waste your time if your 14 or 15 because even if your voice hasnt broken they will almost certainly be too scared to cast you in case you have a growth spurt or your voice breaks during rehearsal... a strong ballet is also looked for etc etc... but goodluck to all those hopefuls...

IT STATES IN THE INFO RECEIVED FROM THE AGENT THAT THE BOY IS BETWEEN 9 AND 13, LESS THAN 5 FOOT AND UNBROKEN VOICE. THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DO BALLET, TAP AND GYMNASTICS HOWEVER DO NOT NEED TO HAVE ALL SKILLS AT THE AUDITION. HAS ANYBODY HEARD WHEN THE AUDITION DATES ARE IN ANY STATE. AT THIS STAGE I AM STILL WAITING FOR A TIME FOR PERTH BUT WONDER IF ANY OF THE OTHER STATES HAVE STARTED THE AUDITIONS.

Hmmm...
Too bad for me i guess. I'm 13 and my voice has broken and I really wanted to audition for it. Wish they did it earlier. I'm alright for everything it's just my voice is the only thing wrong. Not happy!

Well about 2 of the boys in the UK Billy Elliot Muscial had broken voices so they probably dont mind...
Sydney auditions are on Fri
Sydney auditions are on Fri 3 Nov. Brisbanes on either 23, 24 or 25 Nov. Have no idea about the other cities yet.
I would think if they say
I would think if they say no broken voices and no tall than 5' they mena it. If your voice has already broken by the time Jan 08 arrives there is no way you will sound like a 11-12 yr old boy.

Dates for Adelaide Auditions
My son will be 9 in 2008. He does all types of dancing, singing, acting and tap. Could he apply for an audition in Adelaide when you come? And where abouts is the adelaide audition being held? He has been dancing since the age of 3 at Mighty Good Talent School.
