Off-Broadway Hit comes to Penrith New local theatre company, Mobile Floodway Productions, will be presenting the NSW Premiere of the Off-Broadway Hit “john and jen” by Composer Andrew Lippa and Lyricist Tom Greenwald, at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre this August. It is the story of Jen and her relationships with the two Johns of her life: her younger brother, who was killed in Vietnam, and his namesake, her son who is trying to find his way in a confusing world. With a cast of only two people, “john & jen” is a tour-de-force for two actors who take Jen and John from childhood, through adolescence and beyond. Local actors, Andrew Livingston and Naomi Gardiner will star as John and Jen and are very excited about the challenge. Director/Producer Dean Vince, who has appeared in numerous professional productions including Cats, Dirty Dancing and the upcoming Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and who has directed local productions of “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Mikado” is thrilled to be bringing this wonderful chamber musical, scored for piano percussion and cello, to the greater west. “john & jen” is a musical about connections, commitments and the healing of the human heart and will entertain and move anyone who has ever been a child or a parent. Performances are from 18th-21st August and tickets are $30/$22. For bookings call: 4723 7600.
