Hi. Canterbury Theatre Guild are staging the Buddy Holly Story at the Tom Mann theatre in Surry Hills this November. Casting is almost complete but we are still seeking a suitable actor for the lead role of Buddy Holly. You should be mid 20's or early 30's, good acting ability, be able to sing like Buddy and preferably be a reasonable electric guitarist. This is the role of a lifetime for the right person as Buddy sings 14 songs and is on stage virtually the entire show. Auditions scheduled for Wed July 5th. Call David Hines (Musical Director) on 0418 299 241 if interested.

Hi there, I'm interested in possibly chating with you in regards to the role. I havn't much since 1998, but was have been involved in school productions (the wiz and pirates) and have also been involved with workshops at STAG (Shepparton Theatre Arts Group). Unfortunately I don't play guitar (but could pick it up - I'm diverse in music - can play by ear on piano). Buddy Holly songs are pretty much basic major chords anyway. New to the musical theatre scene (so to speak!) but would certainly like the opportunity. Let me know what audition processes are rquired. Cheers!
