Smoke and mirrors

Why can't you tell Labrug what the show is? Surely people who are interested in the position will need to know what they are choreographing and who (I imagine it might be more difficult to choreograph children or the elderly, compared to some spritely 22 year old)? If rehearsals start in Oct, and "all will be revealed" in Aug, then why bother advertising now? If this is just a publicity attempt, then it's a bad one. Nobody knows what the show is to be interested for later! The Prompt Copy Networking emerging theatre professionals www.thepromptcopy.com Sticky Apple Legs http://stickyapplelegs.artsblogs.com

Interested...

What are your contact details? Do you have email or phone number for interested choreographers to contact you? Cheers

LTSI obviously doesn't have

LTSI obviously doesn't have a choreographer and may want to secure someone before posting any other news......! Just a thought. God forbid he/she/it trying to be a bit organised BEFORE any further notices are posted. NA WROTE: "why bother advertising now"..... I don't see it as an advertisement for the show, to me it looks like a post for expressions of interest to choreograph a musical.... but hey, I have been known to be wrong. By the way, some people may not be aware, but if you're a member you can send a email DIRECT to the author save putting any private contact details out there for everyone to see. Seriously, people need to lighten up in the world. Don't be so quick to get negative and narky.....

Jumping the Gun

I think the point is more that they ask for a choreographer but do not specify what type of choreographer. What are they expected to do? Why run the risk of getting a whole stream of e-mails or private messages from Jazz Choreogaphers when what you want is a Stage Combat Choreographer.

Personally, I will not send an e-mail or private posting on the simple premise that I do not want to be one of these posts. Secondly, I would say that they would not be looking for my type of choreography. Mostly likely something dance related, but what style?

The query is to help LTSI filter through the mud and get to the gem quicker. No-ones getting negative or narky, they want to know.... and that can only be a good thing.

It's not organisation if

It's not organisation if you can't inform the potential choreographers what they're expected to do. They don't have reveal the plot or anything like that, but an interested party will want to know: payment/volunteer duration of season and rehearsals type of choreography or skills needed who they will be working with (including the company's background) >NA WROTE: "why bother advertising now"..... >I don't see it as an advertisement for the show, to me it >looks like a post for expressions of interest to choreograph >a musical.... but hey, I have been known to be wrong. Anything and everything is advertisement... just look at the length of the thread so far... I am lightened up - I'm also experienced enough to recognise a particularly suspicious sounding advert for a job that I might source and promote. I refuse to send private emails to find out information on an advert that was made public; the information that we're asking for is information that is generally made public in a job ad. Considering that I can't even tell whether or not it is an advert for a professional or an amateur company, I think it's fair enough to ask for more information before I suggest to other people to apply. Paid work is hard enough to come by in this industry - we don't need murkier waters.
