Mamma Mia REVIEW
Sat, 14 Aug 2010, 04:11 pmMamma Mia
By Benny Andersson & Bjorn Ulvaeus
Directed by Phyllida Lloyd
Presented by Judy Craymer, Richard East & Bjorn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal & Michael Coppel with Louise Withers & Associates
Lyric Theatre, QPAC, Brisbane
Here Mamma Mia goes again. Returning for a 10th anniversary Australian tour, opening night was a visual extravaganza and musical delight full of vivacious performances showing why the musical is so popular.
The tour reunites some of the original Australian cast and delivers an explosion of exciting song and dance including favourite Abba classics Dancing Queen, Take a Chance on me, S.O.S. and of course, Mamma Mia. The energy and hype beaming from the cast was infectious. Even for a non-Abba fan like myself, it was a really fun night...
