Rent - Stella Entertainment
Fri, 10 Feb 2006, 09:04 amI saw the opening night of Stella Entertainment's production of Rent at the National Theatre last night...WOW!
My expectations for this production were very high and I was still blown away. The entire cast were amazing and I felt humbled in the presence of so many brilliant performers. There was not one weak link in this production.
I can honestly say that I preferred this production to the professional version at the Comedy Theatre a few years ago. Director Peter Fitzpatrick's interpretation was fresh and exciting and really focussed on the dramatic side of the story.
Make sure you get tickets quick!

yeah - i have to agree. i went not sure wat to expect ... i had only read a great review in the press (the age) and decided to go ... and was totally blown away. i was shocked at the scale and production quality. while angel was a stand out, and to a lesser degree maureen and collins, the whole ensemble was pretty brillaint ... maybe the only thing i'd fault it was some of the audio with mimi ('out tonight') ... im not sure if it was her vocals, or the audio levels, but i was like 'wat the heck is she saying' ... other than that tho ... i guess it was incredibly moving, and they managed to pull that off.
