My apologies to all those for whom this is a repost. If you are subscribed to the mailing list you have probably read this already.
Following is Max Armstrong's response to earlier messages sent directly to the mailing list this morning.
Max, i'm not sure from your post who you feel has been making use of "dismissive language".

Dear all,
I bang my head constantly for opportunities lost by people presenting the
vision that they are master of thier own domain by the use of dismissive
language to the lesser mortals.
Perhaps a lot more mileage would have been gained by a simple "Yes please,
inclusion on your site would be much appreciated. Our web address is
http://blah blah.etc.au "

All the information you seek is freely available on the ITA website. You will notice that copyright notices are not appended to each page. Please feel free to help yourself to whatever information you require.
The ITA website is a communication medium for a well established, flourishing organisation with a highly active membership. The site is built around a shared vision of an interactive arts community. It has always been more than a sales brochure, product catalogue or calendar of events.
Cheers

RE: Missed Messages [repost]

Hi all :)
To identify whom I perceived as using the dismissive language didn't seem inportant actually. I was more expressing my frustration at the lack of common sense in doing something that would have a beneficial result.
I figure I'll email ozdiary on behalf of the website and say "Yes thankyou, inclusion on your site would be appreciated". The paying public will probably appreciate it anyway.

Ditto that, but i suspect for very different reasons.
Stephen already has the address for the ITA site. In fact, he's been on the mailing list for nearly three months and the ITA site has been listed on Ozdiary for much of that time. He would also be aware that the information he is seeking from individual clubs is freely available here. I indicated as much in my reply to his first request for information back in January this year.
Common sense?
I should think we were providing information on a platter to Ozdiary. Rather than chasing up 40 odd community theatre companies here in WA for season details, ploughing through mountains of mail, Ozdiary can help themselves to the collated information here whenever they like.

I'm sure we'd all appreciate it. Perhaps you might ask why it hasn't happened?
Cheers

RE: mailing list directions

Hi Sidsel
You may add yourself to the mailing list by filling in your email address on the front page of the website in the Message boards section and clicking on the Subscribe to Message Boards button.
You old address will automatically be removed when it starts to bounce mail.
Great to have you back on board!
Cheers

Happy to oblige.
If you check the website's homepage - you can get there from anywhere in the site by clicking on the ITA logo in the upper left corner of each screen - scroll halfway down that first page for a heading Message Boards.
Somewhere not far below this, and just above the What's on this week section, is a space for you to fill in your email address and then click on the button labelled Subscribe to Message Boards.
Should this fail, you can resort to sending a blank email to the following address:
itawa-subscribe@eGroups.com
Cheers
Grant
