Going Pro?
Sat, 4 Dec 1999, 07:46 amHi All
Do you want professional companies and shows listed in the database?
I know that i would personally find it very useful to have them all listed in the one place.
At present no-one in Perth - as near as i can tell - is providing a comprehensive on-line listing of what is happening in both the professional and amateur theatres. If the ITA site were to provide it, we could all benefit from people visiting to see what is happening.
It would not be my intention to distinguish in anyway between professional and amateur listings. If people can't tell from the ticket price, venue or name of the company, then they probably won't recognise the difference in product either.
Cheers
Grant

RE: Going National?

YES!
I have already seen one or two postings from people from both Overseas and Interstate that have discovered our Web Site and have asked for advice on both Professional and Eastern States Theatres. At present, we cover neither of these areas.
With the New URL Name (i.e. theatre.asn.au) when people go searching for Australian Theatrical Web Sites, the ITA site will be one of the first ones listed. This means that we will have a larger number of visitors looking towards us for information on a National and Professional Basis.
I say, let's give them what they want. It also makes us feel more important I'm sure ;-)
