Ok, so I realise that the Finley Award Night was on over a week ago, but IÂ’d still like to say thank you to a whole bunch of people.

Firstly, a very big thanks to crgwllms (otherwise known as Craig :) for hosting the evening. This man is funny, clever, witty, can think on his feet and no one has a right to be that darned talented. Plus, he looks great in a tux.

Thank you also to Barbara Lovell for Stage Managing. Barbara stepped in at the last minute and did such an amazing job. This woman is unflappable in a crisis and she is certainly one of the most professional stage managers I have had the pleasure of working with.

Also, thank you to David Young (Assistant Stage Manager) for his work, both that evening and the entire year. David is the one who co-ordinates the adjudicators, arranges what night they see a production and makes sure that the comments are sent to the clubs. IÂ’m sure thereÂ’s heaps of other things he does that IÂ’ve missed here. So, thanks for everything :)

Although lighting the Dramafest for many years, this was Nick DonaldÂ’s first go at the FinleyÂ’s. He did a great job, making sure each excerpt had exactly the sort of lighting that they wanted. Thanks too to Joe Lui for his work with the sound.

FOH was a job that I was not relishing having to do, so thank you, thank you, thank you, to Norma Davies and Dean Shulze. These two are amazing and any theatre company would be lucky to have them. Thank you also to Kimberley Shaw for organising the tickets, to Geoffrey Leeder for selling them and to Melanie DeCull for doing the programme.

To everyone who performed and gave speeches on the night, a big thank you. You all made my job so much easier by being professional and organised. Also, you all looked and sounded great :)

Finally, thanks to the Adjudicators. They . . . well . . . they are four amazing individuals who had a difficult task and they rose to the challenge.

I would have said all this sooner, but have been insanely busy with another project (Popcorn, Studio, Subi Theatre Centre, opens Feb 16, bookings through BOCS, for more info check out http://www.theatre.asn.au/eventView.php3?event_id=5544). I figured better late than never.

To anyone IÂ’ve missed, IÂ’m sorry and thank you.

IÂ’m done now.
