This "HOLE" in my bookings is *really* starting to *^%!#! me off!

If you've been involved in theatre for any time at all, you'll know what I'm talking about...

WHY is it there's *ALWAYS* one night in a season where, no matter how well tickets are selling generally, it's own bookings are so ROTTEN they remind you of a BLACK HOLE? Sucking up all the light and noise around it... sucking in general!

AND you can NEVER PREDICT *when* it'll be... it just appears!

Two hours ago, I was sitting here looking at this *sand trap* in my booking summary wondering just HOW I'd make the situation better...

You see, I *like* to work under the assumption that having *somebody* in an audience (no matter how much they paid) is better than playing to an empty house - you've probably been in that exact same situation yourself?

So, after much to-ing and fro-ing, arguing, and 'gnashing of teeth' here's what I've *finally* been authorised to do - but only for this ONE PERFORMANCE, to make the night WORTH the DOING...

***You can come along this ONE performance of "Agency" for a flat *NINE BUCKS* per ticket (instead of the usual $18.00)!***

Now, you can come by yourself, or with a group of friends... but make no mistake -- this price will not be offered again! As I said, it's only there to make up for "Murphy's Law" No. 97 of the theatre... the one that says "There'll *always* be one totally unexpected, awesomely s***-house night for bookings!" :o)

What: "Agency" by Diana Day
When: Thurday 19th August, 8pm
Where: Blue Room Theatre
Price: 50% Limited Discount -- $9 FLAT (instead of $18.00)

Conditions:

1. Offer is *only* for ITA website patrons and their *immediate* friend or Family, and;
2. When booking, you MUST MENTION that you want the "BLACK HOLE" $9 SPECIAL DISCOUNT only available for Thurday 19th August's performance of "Agency."

Book with Amber on 9227 7005.

Looking at the rest of my booking sheets, I can safely say this will be the ONLY opportunity you'll now get for a discount... and in some cases your only opportunity for a ticket AT ALL!

Look forward to seeing you there!

Regards,
Jason

Hmmmmmmmmm, sounds like a severe case of overdone sales pitch.
You wouldn't perchance have been in contact with a fellow called Tim (appears from time to time on telly)?
How much extra is the post and packaging, and do we get a set of steak knives with it? And if we call right now and book with a credit card do we get another 20% off, but only if we call within the next 30 minutes?

Re: There's ALWAYS *ONE* &^$%&!, isn't there?!

Obviously, you may think as you wish, "facetious" - but I've simply made a genuine discounted offer to a production to which some folks on this site may wish to come.

That is all.

Regards,
Jason (and yes, I have the guts to put my own name behind my words)

Never said you didn't.
Look up the appellation in a dictionary.
Might one suspect a certain amount of tongue in cheek?

Re: There's ALWAYS *ONE* ...or two, or 5, or 20...

Actually Jason, I'd agree with the point 'facetious' has so facetiously made...not anything to do with the product you're advertising or the terrific offers you're making, but simply that every time I looked here last week there were commercials for Agency playing loudly on every forum-channel, with web links constantly repeated in a decidedly 'but wait...there's more!' kind of way...!

I certainly expected you to be throwing in the vege-peeler-and-juicer attachment in at least one of those multiple posts, in the Classifieds section, perhaps?

Hope the show ends well
Cheers,
Craig
