Re: auditions on 8.2.04
Hello,
My name is Benjamin Smart, I am 14years old & live with my Nan & Pop in mandurah ( don't let the address put you off ). I want to be a professional actor so Nan & Pop will travel with me to any distance.
I am currently in a play, "A fractured fairytale", at the Marloo Theatre in Darlington, I originally auditioned for a dancing part in the chorusline for this show, and was accepted, after reading the script, I decided I would like the role of the 'Apprentice Story-teller', unfortunately, the director had me written in for 2 solo dance parts and wanted me for numerous dancing throughout the show, hence all the dancing clashed with that role, but could fit me in the role of 'Grabbit'.
In this show I dance to "Puttin' On The Ritz" and "Cowboy Boots", one is a jazzy number, the other a freestyle linedance number, have choreographed my own dances to both of them, I asked if I could choreograph a group dance to "All That Jazz", LaVerne and John agreed, after seeing what I had put together with the older cast members, they asked if I would choreograph another dance to "You're never Fully Dressed Without a smile", which they also thought was great.
I am a Linedancer, my credits so far are - 5 x West Australian Freestyle Solo Champion, Queensland and South Australian Standard and Freestyle Solo Champion, National Freestyle and the youngest ever Maverick Champion, World Champion Junior Freestyle in California and Asian Pacific Junior Champion. I am currently fund-raising to get to Malaysia in August, 2004 to enable me to qualify for the Worlds 2005 Linedance Championships.
Other shows I have performed in are, 'The Blues Brothers' and 'Man From Snowy River Spectacular' at the Burswood Dome.
I hope I can fit in with your show or maybe some future shows.
Thanking you.
Benjamin
