Does anyone know what happened with the Ignite Grant that the previous government promised? The recipients were originally supposed to be announced at DramaFest and then at Treading the Boards... Is it on or off??

They're too busy doing really important things, like changing their logo. Why not drop new Arts Minister John Day a line and ask him what's happening? Contact details are: Honourable John Day BSc BDSc MLA Minister for Planning; Culture and the Arts Address: 13th Floor, Dumas House, 2 Havelock Street, WEST PERTH WA 6005 Telephone: 9213 6600 Fax: 9213 6601 e-Mail: Minister.Day@dpc.wa.gov.au

Inflammatory title

I saw this subject heading and thought it was some kind of call to start a flame-war against this 'ere site's administrator Mr Malcolm....! crg ~<8>-/====\---------

Sme here Craig

I thought it was an impassioned plea to set the erstwhile Mr Malcolm alight - as if the poor man doesn't have enough problems ;) On a more serious note, one wonders how the need to find cash for other projects may affect the grant. They're talking about canning a sports stadium because of the royalties for regions commitment and the arts has always rated well behind sports in terms of public funding. I'm not sure the current government has any responsibility to follow through on the commitments of the previous government - is it a done deal anymore?
