Besides, we like our "larger then life" people just the way they are! If it wasn't for their vocal ability, we would never know when the show was over!

Appart from the fact that a healthy diet and exercise does all the stuff you say that crap supposedly achieves for you, this Herbalife selling routine arrived in the early to mid eighties and bombed back then so you are fighting at least 20 years of negative impressions as soon as the word Herbalife appears anywhere. You obviously have no idea who you're advertising to...you missed a rather nice theatrical pun there. The fat lady is supposed to die anyway, that's why she sings, after which she and the opera are over. Giving her herbalife would prolong the opera indefinitely, which could cause some problems with retaining audiences, not to mention causing havoc within the musician's union.

I'm not going to argue about the pros and cons of your product, apart from observing the fact that my obesity has been kept to a complete minimum and my energy levels amazingly high by rather cheaply eating plenty of fruit and vegetables, drinking water, and being regularly involved in rigorous physical exercise....
But it does sound like nobody really appreciates your unsolicited junk mail...which is what you are providing by advertising in this inappropriate forum.

Perhaps you are right, and by taking herbalife you extend your health and wellbeing...? But have you considered that by SELLING herbalife you increase your risks of physical and social harm, in the wrong circles?

You seem to think that my replying to you is going to help your business...well, I honestly hope so, mate, because nothing that you write here seems to be helping your cause or making you seem intelligent and/or professional.

I started to have doubts when your original advert said I could “LOOSE WEIGHT QUICKLY” and should view some of the great “pruducts avaliable”….good advertising copy.

Graeme made a neat joke, which appeared to be too subtle for you. I had to explain it for you, but then you seem to have completely misunderstood my explanation.
Yes, I see you recognize the phrase “It ainÂ’t over until the fat lady sings”, but do you understand the context? It was actually a phrase attributed to baseball player/coach Yogi Berra as a metaphor for the game not being over until the final play, but he was drawing on the clichéd image of the portly Viking-clad woman in a Wagnerian opera singing the final tragic aria before she dies, thus ending the opera.
I am not saying she dies from being fat. IÂ’m saying she sings, then she dies...because thatÂ’s what happens in a tragedy. Then you know itÂ’s over.
It seems YOU were the one who replied to Grahame saying that obesity causes diseases and heart attacksÂ…(more shameless product promotion)Â…and so I suggested jokingly that you shouldnÂ’t be prolonging the fat ladyÂ’s longevity because then the opera could go on forever.

So you see, it WAS a nice argument, except you spelled ‘arguement’ wrongly.

You then told me I meant ‘vigorous’ and not ‘rigorous’… Well if you’ve been paying attention to anything I write on this site you should understand that I am generally ‘rigidly accurate and precise’ ..which is one of the meanings of rigorous. Had you ever seen my physical exercise regime for shows like 'The Stones' you would understand that it is also ‘rigorous’ – in the sense of meaning ‘strict, severe, something hard to endure’. Admittedly, if I get my heart rate up it also becomes vigorous…but before you go correcting me on words I suggest you look up dictionary.com.


Now, as to your assertion that the more people read your posts here the better your business is going to be, perhaps I can draw your attention to some of the things they will read (apart from the approximately 30 grammatical and spelling errors in your reply to me!) when they come to the posts you have added to this threadÂ…

Okay.. I think this "discussion" has gone on quite long enough.
My operatic baseball pun was in jest, and I am beginning to wonder why I made it.
Next thing we know we will have someone trying to litigate against someone else for slander or defamation of character or nonconsumation of marriage or something else equally as ridiculous.
Perhaps we should just, as Nimrod sagely suggests, ignore it. Maybe then it will go away and die the miserable death it so richly deserves.
Lets face it, the product works for some and not for others, namely those who have the excess weight to lose from their wallets.. and not for those who dont!
I really believe that we should stop giving it publicity... bad or otherwise...after all (and as "theatre-folk" we KNOW this to be true) one of the best forms of advertising is notoriety.

I have no opinion on the product one way or another, except that it is an inappropriate forum to advertise it.

I just don't understand how come u can so easily critise something that you have never experienced! u have never taken herbalife ( i presume), you DONT know whether or not it works.....maybe (for the people whom it doesn't work for) stop worrying about the eating side of things and tihnk that herbalife itself can overpower 10 packets of chips per day, mcdonalds 7 times a week etc.... because it, and nothing else, COULD! It simply can be used as an additive to a diet to accelerate the process and as a full fledged ultimitate pack....And for those who actually stick to it and do what is said to do ....will actually lose the weight which intended....so u cant even begin to say that herbalife loses weight from your wallet solely if used correctly!!

That has been the most reasonable post yet!

i hate to say it, but hebal life is a crock of dog vomit!

i started it a few years back, all it gave me were stomache ulcers and bad diaoherra!....all you do it take laxitives! as soon as i came off the programme, all the weight i had lost (which was water weight coz all i was doing was throwing up and my arse was constantly on the toilet!) was put back on!

yeah, i lost 17 cm in 2 weeks..BUT that was very unhealthy...as well as the 5kg i lost in one week!....
