Playtime Theatre Assoc - youth classes
Tue, 25 Jan 2005, 08:26 amPlaytime Theatre Association runs drama classes for young people aged 8-12 on Saturdays 10.30-12 and for 13-18 year olds on Tuesdays 5.30 -7. The classes are run at the Old Mill Theatre in South Perth and cover general skills, improvisation and playbuilding. The term runs for the same length as the school term and is $100.
The highlight of the year is in the third term (end of September) when both classes perform their self-written play to family and friends on a Friday night on stage at the Old Mill with full lights, sound, backstage crew etc.
The classes are aimed to help the young people enjoy drama and the theatre whilst developing their skills. We have had a lot of positive feedback from parents, particularly of improved self-confidence and ability to speak in public.
The class for the older kids can also be geared to give assistance with some aspects of the TEE assessment for drama if required.
