Perth TV commercial
Wed, 30 July 2003, 05:29 pmHi folks
This is an unusual move but I am having big problems finding a character for a TV commercial and need the assistance of the local PERTH theatre community.
I am looking for a guy in his early 20s, a little quirky and cheeky, who is not afraid to throw himself into making some sound effects! The sound is of a milkshake machine, with accompanying actions if you like.
This person needs to be Caucasian, between about 5’10” and 6’1”, with a good sense of humour and comic timing. Because this ad is for a food product, it's important that the person looks healthy and has good good skin. Also needs to be clean shaven. (Not asking for much, am I!)
Additionally, he would need to be available for filming on MONDAY AUGUST 4th all day.
This is a paid job and I will be holding auditions this Friday August 1st.
If you think youÂ’re suitable or know someone who is, please e-mail jennic@iinet.net.au and if you are able to send a picture, that would help too although not essential. I will reply as soon as possible -please be patient!
Thanks

Re: Perth TV commercial
I don't believe it! You're actually having trouble finding an actor to fill a paid role in a TV commercial in WA?(!) There must be at least a couple thousand hungry actors on the books that fit that description. They must be all sick, or on holiday or something!
Can't fill a actor for a paid part???? As the Duke of Wellington said, "If you believe that, you will believe anything..."

Hey Jenni,
If we have already auditioned for the part...Does that mean we didn't get the role....Well Damn! :)
Oh Well...Best of Luck finding the right guy.

I would love to do it... But I wouldnt be able to make the Friday Audition, until about 4.00-430. Would this be okay? I am only 17, and I am about 5' 7". But I will give it a go. I should be able to get Monday off school if I get in. Call me on 0403328830, but if my phone is switched off, could you email me, on the address above.

Re: Any Need ?
Hi Jenni - just logged onto this site and thought I might draw your attention to my daughter who has a wonderful singing voice - she is just 13, bright, intelligent and probably destined for stage in one form or other - my job is to keep her challenged!
with Thanks

Re: You're an idiot, mate...
....but you make a great milkshake."
If you remember this immortal line from the above commercial (which was shot and aired last year), and want to see the brilliant James Eaton who was cast in the role, become a regular attendee at The Big Hoo Haa...
You can regularly see James and a whole lot of other funny idiots performing at the Freo Hotel, the Brass Monkey, the Hyde Park Comedy Lounge, and as of Friday the 6th August, at Rosie O'Grady's pub in South Perth....see the What's On section for details.
Cheers,
Craig
