Barking Gecko Theatre Company specializes in childrens theatre and has an excellent program for kids ranging from after school workshops to holiday programs.

My niece who is now 10 has been attending Helen O'grady's drama acadamy since she was about 6 and she absolutely loves it. I was a little sceptical at first but she convinced me.

the WA College of Performing Arts is situated in Morley and teaches the arts to children from the ages of four to adult. teaches in dance, drama, acro, music, ballet, jazz, pointe etc etc.
very good drama program with good teachers and the principal is Pettine-Ann Croul MBE ATCL, LTCL, FTCL, LRSM, MTC, FAMTA, MIMT .

The WA College of Performing Arts was founded in 1996 and is closely associated with Trinity College - London.

Courses offered in Music, Music Theatre, Drama and Dance, for students from four years of age in groups or as a single study.

Instruments offered for study cover the complete range of orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, keyboard and voice.

All teachers are highly qualified in their area of specialty and provide a high level of tuition.

WA College of Performing Arts students are graded according to age and experience.

International Certification
Students of Drama Courses are encouraged to take the Trinity College - London examinations - both practical and theory.

Students are assessed by international examiners from Trinity College - London.

Graduation
A Graduation Ceremony for students completing WA College of Performing Arts Courses is held in conjunction with a Student's Concert at the end of each year.

Drama - Curriculum

Our Drama Courses are designed for students who have little or no background in acting.

Programmes are available for the following age groups:

Junior Drama
Senior Drama
Adults
Theatre company (17 years and over)
Fees are payable in advance

All fees include GST and are based on a ten (10) week term.

I'd second Helen O'Grady's - I went there til last year. Its a lot of fun, nothing too serious, kiddies get a chance to perform in front of people (they have a panto style show at the end of each year) and there are studios all over Perth...

And its rumoured that they have such comprehensive lesson plans, if you start at age 5 and continue until age 17, you will never once repeat a lesson - try it and see, I guess...

i attended Helen O'Grady when i was 5ish and going there made me love drama, infact i am now 16 and starting to work professional. Its a great school for kids.
