Hard Ax Theatre Ensemble: auditions

Call for auditions. We are looking for actors aged 17-70 to fill 11 roles (6F + 5M). Although no experience is necessary, we will be looking to fill roles with actors that offer a best fit with our on-stage and off-stage needs. When: Saturday June 1st, 1:00-5:00pm Where: Studio 4.2 (lvl 4), Metro Arts, 109 Edward Street, The City (Brisbane). What you need to bring: 1 x 3-minute piece of your own selection What you will be required to do: Cold read role/s that we think most suit your skills and attributes What you need to consider: Hard Ax is a co-op ensemble. This means we share the work and share the profits. You will be expected to undertake a number of organisational roles as well as your acting role/s. Successful applicants asked to meet June 4  June 4 Hard Ax 'meet&greet' and discuss rehearsal schedules, venues, direction, etc etc.  June 8&9…rehearsals start for on the three new Australian works we've selected. Rehearsals are expected to run one night a week for each play for 5 weeks (June 8-9 to July 4). Then both plays together as full-dress & technical rehearsals in the final week (starting July 7) for at least two nights. July 12,13,19,20,26,27…regional venues season (Mt Nebo, Woodford, Dayboro etc) one night in each venue with a program of two one-act plays and one ten-minute play. August 2-4 & 9-11…Beenleigh and Ipswich one-act play comp productions (for the one act plays) August 18-24 Short & Sweet (for the ten-minute plays)
