"Organ Recital"
Award winning play, cast is six [6] female actors.
Written by Cate Smith, who wrote "The Starting Stalls", which sold out repeatedly & was followed by "Home Open!".
"Organ Recital" is a very funny play, the tension evoked by 3 women of very different backgrounds, forced into one hospital ward together. Collin O;Brien from UWA directed the first season of this play with a light touch and great wit. It won the Stages award for best new play. Cate also has 3 one-act plays, all comedic, which would make a great season.

Play scripts- Cate Smith
Cate Smith has been writing plays since she was seven.
She was beaten as a child by a mother who took great umbrage at her Actil sheets being used as stage curtains.
She kept writing, married, produced children, then went to Uni full-time, where it was recognised by others that Cate had a good ear for dialogue and a gift for building characters whom the audience care about. Her first play as an adult is called "Flowers By Request". An Irish, Roman Catholic family are conflicted when mother dies. Say no more.

play scripts- Cate Smith
Cate wrote 3 one-act plays- all very different, but all able to be done by good, female actors and one male who might be doing lighting & can run onstage & deliver hubby's lines.
"Party Girls" sends up the touting of Tupperware parties & scathing comments from a hubby don't stop the nonsense.
"Out To Lunch" won the inaugural STAGES award.& uses just two female actors, one being much older than the other. Funny and poignant, audiences loved it. The 3rd play is "An intimate Composition"- about 4 women in a painting group who do more pouring of booze than paint. Funny & cutting, with a twisted ending. Not for the faint hearted.
