Youth Theatre Workshops in Rockingham

Act-Up/Act_Out is one of many youth arts focussed initiatives that have been implemented by the City of Rockingham. It is a youth theatre programme which focuses on developing theatre and drama skills, communication and confidence in young people. The classes are fun and creative and run all year round starting in the second week of each school term and breaking for the holidays.

Your chance to Act Up and Act Out!

Classes will be commencing for Term 4 2007 on Tuesday 23rd October. The workshops run for 9-weeks, every Tuesday:

Act-up (years 6 and 7) - 4pm to 5.30pm 

Act_Out (high school students) - 5.30 til 7pm

The workshops are held at Hillman Hall, opposite Hillman Primary School off Unaroo Street, Hillman. Workshop fees for the 9-week program are $60(inc GST) or $45(inc GST) for holders of Commonwealth Health Care Cards. Alternative payment arrangements can be made, City of Rockingham's Youth Arts Officer to discuss them.

Mr. Andrew Kocsis returns as the facilitator for the workshop series in term4. Mr. Kocsis comes to the workshops with a Bachelor of Education in English and drama and Honours in Youth Drama.

Stages, the WA Playwrights’ Consortium, has gained a national reputation for its commitment to the development, support and advocacy of Western Australian playwrights and performance writing. Stages is seeking a part-time Administration Assistant to work with the Director. The successful applicant would meet the following selection criteria and would be employed on a 0.2 FTE pro-rata salary of $32,000 per annum to work for one (1) day (total of 7.5 hours) per week, or two (2) half days based on a 37.5 hour working week. Essential selection criteria: demonstrated experience in administration, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, and good communication skills (both written and oral). Preferable selection criteria: demonstrated experience in arts administration, proficient in MYOB accounting software, familiar with the Apple Macintosh environment, experience with Microsoft Entourage email software and AppleWorks database software. Applications should include a letter addressing the position and the selection criteria, and detailing recent administration experience and any knowledge of or involvement with the arts industry.
