Synopsis

Johnny and Amy’s relationship is breaking down, and so is the very time and space around them. Has Johnny been forgetting to take his medication? Nothing is quite as it seems in the confines of this small apartment. Through the eyes of Johnny we see the fabric of reality twist and tear. Are we watching through the eyes of someone on the brink of sanity? Are we stuck deep in a nightmare? What answers lie in within Johnny’s mind and how can he regain control and find solace?

 

Sensimilla Productions presents what could be one of the most off the wall short films to ever be produced. Johnny Deformed is going to be a 7 minute short combining comic book style artwork and digital special effects techniques to craft a intricate world; a cross between Hunter S. Thompson’s drug induced realities of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and the surrealist symbolic nightmare of David Lynch’s Eraserhead.

 

We require experienced actors who seek a challenge and are willing to break away from the moulds of typical drama and dare to experiment. If you are off the wall and out of your mind – you are perfect to audition for this film!

 

ABOUT SENSIMILLA PRODUCTIONS

Sensimilla productions is comprised of graduating year film and video students currently studying at Edith Cowan University in Mount Lawley. About to complete our degrees, we have a lot of experience on set and have a twisted sense of humour combined with a passion to push the boundaries – we aim to produce works which we haven’t seen film students churn out a thousand times before. This is our fourth major production.

 

Cast of Characters

 

Main Characters 

 

Johnny – Aged Between 21-25. We enter the twisted world through the eyes of Johnny. Floating through the insanity that surrounds him, Johnny is disconnected from his world. He walks a thin line between sanity and unbridled madness. Has he been taking his medication? Loves his girlfriend Amy, but has trouble expressing his feelings due to his disturbed state of mind.

 

Amy – Aged Between 21-25. Mostly seen through the eyes of Johnny, Amy is an explosive, erratic yet confident bitch. She jumps back and forward from sensibility to madness – but is she actually mad or is this only how she is perceived in Johnny’s mind?

 

Bob – Aged Between 30-40, the friendly apartment block janitor, mopping floors for a living and secretly hating every moment of his life. While he seems nice enough, is oddly creepy and lecherous.
