Coming soon, frighteningly soon, is the Murdoch Performing Group's next production, Howard Barker's "Scenes from an Execution".

How important is the truth? Is it worth dying for?

Set in Venice, Scenes from an Execution tells the story of a female artist commissioned to paint a heroic depiction of a battle, but who finds herself unable to compromise her artistic integrity and flinch from its gory truth. It is a beautifully written, powerful tale about art and criticism, and the dubious part played by the necessity of state sponsorship.
