Blood Relations
by
Sharon Pollock

Directed by Monica Main

Season - April 30 - May 10 2003
PICA, Northbridge, WA.

From the producers of 'After the Fair' (winner, Best local premiere, 2002 Fringe Awards)

by Award winning Canadian playwright, Sharon Pollock.

'Lizzie Borden took an axe,
Gave her Mother forty whacks.
When she saw what she had done,
She gave her Father forty-one.'

In 1892, Lizzie Borden was accused of brutally killing her parents. She was acquitted and the mystery was never solved.

Blood Relations takes you on a journey through the eyes of Lizzie, the days leading up to the murders. Leaving you asking....'did she... or didn't she...'

just an addition,

guess i should list the characters really....

Actress/Lizzie - Actress from Boston/Lizzie Borden can range from mid - late 20's to mid thirties, not too age specific.

Miss Lizzie/Bridget - Lizzie Borden/ The irish maid. Around same age as Actress/Lizzie.

Emma - Lizzie's older sister.

Mr Borden - Lizzie's father - logically needs to look like her father....

Mrs Borden - Lizzie's step-mother - a bit younger than Mr Borden and on the plump-side.

Harry - Mrs Borden's brother.

Dr Patrick/Defence - The Irish doctor, smitten by Lizzie. The actor will also take the role of the defence during the 'trial' scenes.

just a quick run down of the characters, if you are interested in reading the script, email at georgiam@git.com.au

Cheers,
Georgia.
