I think this idea has been proposed previously by one Ms Gilly Binks and I really don't know if it was met with scorn and derision at the time but......how about clubs/groups/whomeveryouare providing the cast & crew list of recently auditioned shows? Perhaps it's a simple case of the post audition "can't be bothereds" but hey, it's an excellent form of advanced publicity in that lots of us like to know what our contemporaries (you know, the competition) are doing and if we see that a certain someone has been cast in a certain show, we'll probably slot it away in the grey matter somewhere and make a point of seeing that show.

Also an excellent opportunity to check out the work of anybody you might be considering auditioning for or working with.

I believe Hollywood's been using cast & crew lists to attract punters for years!

So, how's about it clubs/groups/whomevers? Get those lists up. The stage manager's always looking for something to do early in the season!

We now put the cast list on our web site, eg.:
http://redterra.net/playlovers/matchgirls.htm

But, Jenny, do you mean on the ITA website? Ideally, I should be able to provide a link from our production notice on the ITA What's On area directly to the relevant web page on Playlovers' own site. (I'll ask Grant if a field can be provided.)

And I shall treat with the comtempt it deserves, your insulting remark about stage-managers!

I'm with Jen.

I still think that putting cast lists on the ITA website (as well as the company's own website) is a great idea. It's quite appropriate for the 'gossip' section really. I mean doesn't everyone want to know who got the role that they didn't get or find out prior to the first rehearsal which marvellous people they'll be performing with or check out if there is any new blood in the mix etc etc?

As I'm so far away now, it's especially nice to log on and find out who's doing what, where and with whom....

Cheers,
Gill

Ok!

As everyone has probably seen here on the ITA, we are doing an ENCORE SEASON of Kander and Ebb's THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND - a fantastic musical to everyone who knows it, and those who don't - you'll love it. You will know nearly all the songs (some in very beautiful re-arrangements) and be introduced to those you've not heard before.

Cast List:

The fantastic AMANDA CHESTERTON......... 'How Lucky Can You Get?'

The amazing CHRIS KABAY......... He IS 'Mr Cellophane'

The gorgeous BREE MCGURK....... True 'Class'

The dashing STUART LAING....... 'Don't say "Why?" - say "Why not!?"'

The heavenly JULIE YAMMANEE....... "Maybe This Time" :-)

The talented SIMON HOLT....... His '...piano's HOT!...'
