Ellie,
Just a quick thought. Have a look at Blue/Orange.

Not sure if you'd count it as "mentally disturbed", but there's a goody from "Assassins" for the character of Sam Byck making a tape to Leonard Bernstein detailing why he's going to try and kill Nixon.

Re: Monologues URGENT!!!
Hi Ellie, its me, your favourite director ever...
Fancy seeing you here :)
My suggestion is to just write your own using the stuff from Rabbit, take a bit of creative license and make up a background for your character...
I'll have a look around for anything you can use, and come and see me if you want any help...

Re: Monologues URGENT!!!
I'm not sure if it's appropriate, but there's a play called BOSS OF THE POOL, I'm not sure who it's by, but it has a mentally disabled person in the show. I think it's a boy though. It's an Australian play and it's written for teenagers/ young adults.
Hope it helps,
Rebecca

Re: Boss of the Pool
"Boss of the Pool" was a novel by Robyn Klein (who wrote 'Hating Alison Ashley').
Barking Gecko commissioned the original stage production; the playwright was Mary Morris (who later wrote 'Two Weeks with The Queen')
