Howdo you find auditions for an 11 yr old?
Fri, 25 Jan 2002, 04:12 pmHi,
I'm Amanda. I'm an eleven yr old in the Australian girls Choir and I am looking for any part in a play, musical, opera, etc. I have been searching for a while so if anyone has any auditions in Melbourne or any links that might help me find some, please e-mail me.
Amanda.

Hi Amanda,
Check out all he links at te ebottoom of this site. Do a search for 'Melbourne Auditions, 2002" with google or another search engine.
Call the City Council for a list of festivals and events (if you are a strong singer) and then phonw the organisors and ask to be involved or for some performance time. Even 15 minutes is long enough at your age.
My neice, 11 has been performing for the past three years in plays and also singing solo at festivals, carols by candlelight, etc. She has recently started a regular gig at Police Blue Light discoes with some friends as back-up dancers. A lot of her work has been paid and all this without an agent.
Be prepared to make a LOT of phone calls and if you do get some performance time - rehearse thoroughly. There are rehearsal studios with mics, etc. & karaoke tapes can be used a sback-ups.
Don't be dissapointed if you don't get teh first couple of plays you audition for as this all takes practice.
Good Luck.
