*blows own trumpet*
Harold Pinter's classic, The Homecoming, opens this Friday at the Dolphin Theatre, UWA. It's anything but a comfortable night out. The laughs - and there are plenty of them - are likely to be drawn through clenched teeth as the audience witness the terrors of a London family reunion.
Max, a widowed invalid pensioner, lives with his two sons Joey, demolition by day - boxer by night, and Lenny, keeps a "number of flats around the area", and brother Sam, a chauffeur. Eldest son Teddy, a lecturer in philosophy, arrives home unannounced in the middle of the night after six years in the US with Ruth, "a wonderful wife and mother".
This production features a strong cast (i was hardly going to say anything else, was i?) including; Peter Fry as Max, Jonathan Beckett as Lenny, Conrad Crisafulli as Sam, Stan (??? oops, sorry Stan!) as Joey, Bev Lawrence as Ruth and "yours truly" as Teddy. The production is directed by Collin O'Brien and stagemanaged by Pat Stroud. Design is by Neale Paterson.
I hope you'll manage to get along and see the show. It runs for three weeks starting this Friday.
Check out the What's On section for details.
Cheers
Grant
PS. Just got the new web site finished in time for production week!!
