We urgently need 2 females actors for independent theatre entries in the Southeast Queensland Drama Festival at Ipswich and Beenleigh in August. Rehearsals have started and we are looking for a mature-aged female (40-80) to play a comedic role in an exciting new Australian comedy. We also urgently need a young female (17-25) for a dramatic role in a gritty new Australian drama. RAMONA (“Rambo”): Late teens/early 20s. Strong, capable, resilient. A country girl who craves release from the isolation and boredom and escape to the city, so she pins her hopes on Mickey. But 'Mickey' is a depressed young man who doesn't know he's just killed himself. She should have been there when he took the overdose but she wasn't, she was in Mickey's best friend's new ute. Females, aged 18 to 25 from Queensland, Australia Minimum Acting experience: No previous acting experience Ethnicity: White / Caucasian Languages spoken: English Accents spoken: Australian Vi is a senior citizen who mixes her medication with alcohol at the local school fundraiser with disastrous consequences as she manages to burn the school hall down and win the trivia night all in one addled half hour of madness. This non-speaking part is a pivotal role in an Australian comedy that makes 'Dimboola' look like a dirge. If you like your comedy thick and fast, this role is for you. Females, aged 40 to 80 from Queensland, Australia Minimum Acting experience: No previous acting experience Ethnicity: White / Caucasian Contact Don: mark181a@bigpond.com
