Nominations
I suppose the whole purpose of no nominations until awards nite is to guarantee that people will turn up thinking they will be nominated. I'm not too sure that will work.

ah well have to give
ah well have to give everything a try at least once. When we had nominations night or announced them no one came because they weren't nominated...so I guess either some people will not be coming.

Why are you expecting 250
Why are you expecting 250 people?
Walter PlingeSat, 12 Jan 2013, 07:20 pm
Comma Chameleon
Shouldn't that read;
"Why, are you expecting 250 people?"
Punctuation.
It's the difference between;
"Helping your Uncle Jack, off a Horse."
and;
"Helping your uncle jack off a horse."
Just sayin'

To be fair.
The sentence works with or without the comma. However, the meanings are distinctly different.
I'm not sure why that posting gets a pedantically critical going over when the entry above has an obvious typographical error.
And you seem to be confusing semicolons and colons. (":")
Have a nice evening.

Mein Fuehrer
It's good to see Nazism alive and well in the grammar department.
Notice by the way that I spelled fuehrer with an 'e' after the 'u' as English keyboards don't have an umlaut key.
Also notice that I mentioned 'nazism' which according to Godwin's Law effectively terminates this thread.

What an embarrassment the
What an embarrassment the awards night was, especially considering it is the big night for community theatre in WA. Half the winners were not present as there were no nominees announced prior to the night, performances on the night were boring, and one would think that the performers were there performing from a show they were nominated for - not the case, in fact one performer wasnt even nominated and only discovered this after performing then seeing the program.
the venue was uninspiring and one would assume a conflict of interest in holding it there as the president of the ITA gets paid to run the venue as well as advertise their shows on the back of the program and embarrassingly mention it about ten time throughout the production. Surely this is a case of the ITA feathering the nest of its committee members. Instead of advertising the venues productions, commonsense would prevail to advertise the first show of the season for its members. Whilst on the topic of the ITA, how about they update their own website, and fill out the whats on and audition page.
Finley Awards used to be a huge affair with musical performances from almost every club, this year left little to be desired. How about nominating the actual person for the technical awards instead of the club. technicians are people too and deserve the respect.
shame on the ITA for letting the awards night get to this stage.....

What an emarrasment
How about hving the courage to use your name, instead of hiding it?

ITA
I'm sure if you feel the ITA would benefit from your input you could attend the AGM and join the committee.

Seems Odd
I congratulated someone on being nominated when I saw the posting on that website a couple of days after the event. The performer in question wasn't even aware they had been nominated! This seems odd and unfortunate as I thought it should be a highlight not an afterthought.
