performance nights
Thu, 11 Oct 2012, 04:32 pmUntil recently, most shows were on every week night except Monday. Now the vast majority are only on Thursday (sometimes), Friday and Saturday nights for two weeks.
With the peaks and troughs of productions, when several plays will open on the same night and then nothing for weeks, this means that one has to decide which shows to see, and so recently I have missed a couple of plays to which I was really looking forward.

Fri, 12 Oct 2012, 10:04 amRecently Old Mill Theatre did a season where we played from Tuesday to Saturday for 4 weeks, We might just as well not bothered with Tuesday nights, even tho I tried to persuade people to come, but even tho I told many that we were full at the end of the week few wanted to come on a Tuesday!!! Wednesday was a bit better. We have recently put in one Wednesday performance per season, it has been slow to take off but improving.
It just seems that folk are slow to accept change! Some theatres don't play on a Thursday- ?late night shopping?? but we find that 's usually a good night nowadays,
Likewise sunday Matinees were slow to take off but now a popular time, especially in the winter months, although the actors grumble!!
