Advanced Diploma in Arts (Acting) 19246             The Advanced Diploma in Arts (Acting) is a stimulating performance and production course that will provide you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge to engage successfully in the performing arts, as an actor, writer director and performance maker. Central to this Advanced Diploma of Arts (Acting) are innovation, experimentation and critical thinking. Strong emphasis is placed on: · extensive training of the physical body, voice, presence and energy of the performer · a holistic approach to study, incorporating current European theory and Eastern philosophies of theatre practice · dramaturgical research, cultural studies and contemporary performance practice · the development of the student’s own independent arts practice Your acting expertise will be developed through workshops, in performance environments and through practical learning as you prepare and present public performances that are challenging in nature and presented in a contemporary style. Units include: · Acting  - Movement and Dance - Music and Singing - Voice - Acting for Screen - Audition Techniques - Survival Industry Skills - Technical Knowledge and Skills - Theory and History of Theatre  - Production Theatre (Rehearsals and Performance) The course is delivered over two years for 25 hours per week at Newcastle campus. Our course is focused on training and developing the actor to be a versatile performer who can work across the wider performing arts industry.
