This exciting thriller concerns Robert and Stella Drury who learn that their son has been kidnapped - not for ransom but so the kidnapper can be a house guest for 48 hours. Two policemen arrive with news that one of the kidnappers has been murdered - but very soon it is obvious that these two, and much else, is not as it seems. Typical of Francis Durbridge's work, this bloodier-than-average thriller is packed with convoluted twists which carry enough surprises for a ten-part television serial. A kidnapped child, distraught parents, assorted villains and a quirky plot littered with lethal weapons and violence make for notable tension. The season runs over the next two weekends, 4th/5th and 11th/12th May. Performances start at 8:00 pm at the Samford Community Centre, School Road. The venue is licensed with a bar and because we set up tables and chairs, patrons are encouraged to bring along their own nibblies/finger foods (no cutlery and nothing noisy).
