One-Act Plays available
Thu, 15 Sept 2011, 04:48 pmHello there creatives!!
I have two One-Act Plays that I have written that are available to be performed - these plays would be royalty free - my background is working in the independant and community arts field in Film/TV and Theatre - I love sharing my work with fellow creatives, it's always exciting to see how the work is interpreted and presented, I really love seeing and hearing the work being told with different voices - this is the true reward
The plays have been produced and performed before -
'The Weekend'
1M 1F
One-Act Play 15 mins
Setting - Modern day
Minimal props and staging
Synopsis: Lucy and Julian are a married couple who are successful theatre performers, they have just received awards and accolades for their show ‘Baltimora’,however behind the smiles and the accolades is the pain of the reality of their relationship breaking down.
The Weekend was performed onstage in New York at a One-Act Festival in February in which it was a semi-finalist, it has only been performed overseas.
'The Flowers Don't Grow Here Anymore'
2M 2F
One-Act Play 15 mins
Setting - Modern day
Minimal props and staging
Synopsis:
Old school friends and married couples Martha, Brian, Paul and Suzie spend the afternoon reflecting on their memories of their friendship & relationships that they have had since their school days after the funeral of their close friend - Everyone is talking except Paul who is consumed with anger and refuses to be a part of the reminiscing. What is the truth behind Paul’s anger and refusal?
The Flowers also performed onstage in New York in July for two shows at One-Act Festival and it's made it's Melbourne debut onstage in August for three shows at One-Act Play Festivals earning a Best Male Actor nomination.
