Theatre Biomechanics International intensive workshop under the direction of Sergei Ostrenko August 22 - 29, 2011 Leitring bei Leibnitz, Austria The workshop is the opportunity to become acquainted with Ostrenko Method of actor's physical training formed and inspired by the greatest figures of the Russian Theatre Tradition, where the name of Vsevolod Meyerhold occupies one of the most significant places. Participants will explore the principles of Theatre Biomechanics, the psycho-physical approach in contemporary performer’s training and its application to practical work - rehearsal process, performance and teaching, and will learn one of the classical Etudes. It is very important to consider Theatre Biomechanics not just as a static museum piece left from the past, but as a very dynamic developing method practiced internationally as an effective technique in contemporary theatre training. The programme is open to professional performers, actors of physical, dramatic, dance and musical theatres, circus performers, dancers, directors and choreographers, and includes intensive practical training, lectures and discussions.
