If you haven't heard of GROWL before, then there's a good reason. We're new! This is just a group of people who are interested in getting together and putting on some plays, having some fun and providing some entertainment. The aims of the group will be: * To put on productions that are of the best quality possible; 'amateur' should not be a synonym for 'rubbish'! * To provide an opportunity for people to hone existing skills and talents, or to build new ones. * To provide a group which helps to foster a greater sense of community. * To provide an opportunity to meet new people. The name was inspired by the suburbs from which we'll mainly draw our members and audiences [GRange, Lutwyche, Windsor, Wilston]. The word 'GROWL' also is bold - and starting a new theatre group is certainly that. During 2011, we hope to put on at least one production, depending on interest. It will be an interesting challenge, with the need to create most things from nothing. Our first production is in just 8 weeks time! The production is of Noel Coward's classic, 'Blithe Spirit' and auditions will be held on Monday 28th Feb, 6:30pm at our venue, Wilston Presbyterian Hall, 28 Macgregor Street, Wilston. For further details you can check out our website or the audition section. So, if you are interested, go to the 'Joining GROWL' section of the website and fill in your details. We need everyone from actors, backstage and costumes to musicians, props and lighting. It would be great to have you on board. So whether you are interested in performing, producing or just want something to see, we would love to hear from you. www.growltheatre.org.au
