Casting for an independent short set in the ‘60s and that takes place entirely within the walls of an unusual hotel. Filming is scheduled for 11, 12 (day), 17 (night) and 18 December in Perth’s CBD. The roles are unpaid but meals and refreshments will be provided and parking or transport costs reimbursed. THE 14TH FLOOR Howard and Cat are a young couple who check into the fashionable but enigmatic Livingston Hotel. One wrong turn on the fourteenth floor leads them through the building’s disregarded old wing, and an ill-informed decision to further investigate takes them to infamous Room 1414. Howard and Cat do not yet know—the guests lurking behind the door are dying to ensure their sojourn is a sexy, sticky and bloody encounter. HOWARD Human. Lead role. (Male, 20-30.) The traditional leading man, except clumsier and somewhat obtuse. PATTY Zombie. Lead role. (Female, 20-30.) Undead vixen. Note: actor performs a clothed but exaggerated, humorous sex scene. FRANK Zombie. Supporting role. (Male, 20-30.) Tends to foam at the mouth when excited. Note: actor performs a clothed but exaggerated, humorous sex scene. LIFT OPERATOR Human? Supporting role. (Male, 40+.) The unsettling lift operator who ferries hotel guests to the fourteenth floor. Auditions run 10 AM – 6 PM Sunday 7 November at Curtin Film & Television Studio. For the script or further details, and to book an audition time, email john@nerdinadryer.com.
