“An Englishman, an Irishman and an American … it’s no joke” Lawson Productions proudly presents Frank McGuiness' award-winning play SOMEONE WHO'LL WATCH OVER ME, based on the true story of Brian Keenan, an Irish writer held captive in Lebanon. Locked up in a room, the play focuses on the trials and tribulations of an Englishman, an Irishman and an American; as they unlock doors to the illusionary world where truth and faith are a matter of perspective. Watch as the three men strive for survival and attempt to maintain sanity under the watchful eye of both captors and supposed comrades. If you remove rationality, do you rely on humour or insanity? The possibilities are endless. SOMEONE WHO'LL WATCH OVER ME is a timeless story showing the prevailing strength of the human spirit. The play was produced on Broadway at the Booth Theatre, opening on May 29, 1992 and closing on June 13, 1997, after 292 performances. It received Tony Award nominations for Best Play and Best Actor in Play (Stephen Rea). The show won the 1993 New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Foreign Play. Starring: Stephen Lee, Kingsley Judd & David Gregory Directed: Peter Clark SOMEONE WHO'LL WATCH OVER ME is playing a limited 2 week season at Old Mill Theatre, Mends Street, South Perth WA September 22nd 23rd, 24th, 25th, 28th, 29th, 30th 2010 @ 8pm October 01st & 02nd 2010 @ 8pm (Matinee performance: 25th September 2010 @ 2pm) Bookings will be open from 21st August 2010 Phone: 9367 8719 See: http://www.theatre.asn.au/production/2010/someone_wholl_watch_over_me_0
